I took Monday off work and went to my favorite beach
(Crystal Cove State Beach, Orange County, CA)
to photograph shorebirds.
The Whimbrel and Willet were actively foraging and quite successful
in catching striped shore crabs (Pachygrapsus crassipes).
This made for a nice story, don't you think?
