- 12th September 2005 - Thin veneer

We're just one disaster away from .... what?
Looting and disorder won't happen here.. who says!

Just watch people today 'queuing' for fuel they don't really
need - 'fighting'/pushing in front of the next person - grid-locking roundabouts
simply to prevent someone possibly pushing in front.... for a fuel shortage that
may not happen (no fuel tonight because of the panic buyers today!).

Maybe I'm wrong, and I hope so, but civilisation is a really thin veneer,
easily scratched....

Did nip out at lunchtime around the corner from work :)
Field next to the M62!

Shortage and free stuff bring out the worst in people...

Shortages don't always bring out the best in people! Beautiful nature scenes!

I love all of your other beautiful images. As for the gasoline...people seem to lose their civilization when faced with shortages.

Civil unrest lies in the chests of us all.
