- 7th April 2005 - BigBrownBeastyBird

There's been a certain amount of discussion about PaD rules etc.
If you miss a day, etc. Well I couldn't manage a decent image
today, but my rule is post a photo taken each day... this is it.

It's actually a superb large brown beasty type bird, but all the seagulls
mobbed it and drove it away!

Original.... OK so I cropped a bit!!

Checked out the popular galleries/images today and realise I'm not voting enough as us PaDders aren't top of the heap! Must vote more.... but I forget too.... sorry. Find it strange that images with only 5 comments get several votes... mmmm.

Ah well. Excellent meeting with the CMI in Warrington tonight. The guy who puts together the best 100 companies list Sunday Times, and a cople of the top listed companies speaking. Super!

Nikon Coolpix 8800

Looks like some kind of hawk? Other birds will chase hawks. At any rate, he is big and brown. :)

The one that almost got away ... make up your own rules, Ian! I can't shoot every day, but I do post a new image every day, and I am always thinking about the next PAD shot, so I guess that is the name of the day. BTW, the only birds I can shoot are the ones sitting verrrrrry still! :)

I always get a surprise when someone tells me I made popular galleries...spend days wondering why when I see some of the company I keep. But...it's nice to be there just the same. I often vote but forget to mention it to the padder..duh !!
By the way Ian, thanks for my vote today !!

....sigh....yes, I (Linda) have frequently come home with similar images....birds in flight, even when you have a longer lens, are tough to capture!

Ian, you seem to have caused some really interesting responses today.

I have many similar bird shots, nature photography is so difficult in this country !

:-)
"A large brown beasty type bird"

Good shot in difficult circumstances.
That's where a 400m 2.8 comes in. A bargain at £5449 in Warehouse Express.
Ah... dreams.
Where's that lottery ticket.

Birds in flight are very difficult - I'm having enough trouble with squirrels! :-)
