28-JAN-2005

- 28th Jan 2005 - Friendly pub

This is the Albion pub in Chester.
And it's a reserve PAD, ie one I'd spotted
but not taken!!

I really wanted Helen and her freinds sister
looking at the sign holding hands - maybe another time :)

I've not been in and suspect it does do a good pint. It
made the newspapers some time ago with its policies,
which are slightly non-PC in this day and age....

I do like the opening hours sign - although I note
they've cracked and said when.

Forgotten charger arrived today - thanks Jim. Missed the postman so had to go and get
the parcel from the main office. This is just in Chester, turn left under a suspicious looking bridge and you're there. It's the main public collection office and
there are NO signs to help you find it! :)

I did promise a bit of Chester proper. So here's a bit of wall. Bit of a grey
day though.

What fun shots! I love the "hours"....too bad they caved and changed it!

no other way to describe this than 'bloody perfect'!!!
Guest 01-Feb-2005 12:08
It's getting more and more difficult to find real ale !
Jim B30-Jan-2005 19:43
Ian, isn't the proper term for this pub 'boozer'?
Guest 30-Jan-2005 14:17
Ahhh English priorities....you gotta love the honesty.

Sounds like my kind of place :-)

That's funny, Ian. No political correctness here LOL !!

Love the pub signs. A little non-p/c is long overdue in most places. Looks like a place I'd like to visit! Good catch.

That's a funny sign Ian. Might scare away some potential customers maybe.

Thanks for giving us a "taste" of your day! This is great. :)

hehe good pub, may have some pub pads tomorrow after the football... =o)
Guest 28-Jan-2005 20:16
Family hostile, thats what my family calls me most of the time!!
Just kidding, but what a great statement to put out there :-)
Guest 28-Jan-2005 20:12
lol at Stewart - no alcopops and no music, what's the chances of finding the Hollyoaks girls in there? (not that I watch it either, natch!) ;-)

Nice pic Ian - I often feel like taking my camera to the pub on Fridays - just for PAD purposes of course....

Now... if it's smoke-free, then it would be the pub for me... especially if the Hollyoaks girls go there (not that I watch it, mind you) :D

Looks like a very good pub to me.
Guest 28-Jan-2005 17:21
That is a place I would like to go, I can be VERY family hostile and I'm allergic to giant primary colored plastic play areas!! LOL!!

I love the sign! Sounds like a strong character here.
