I spotted this turtle catching some rays in Walnut Creek. I didn't want to get too close and scare it back into the creek, so I zoomed in as far as the lens would go and was able to snap a couple of exposures before a cyclist rode by behind me and scared the turtle away.

The camera overexposed the photo (perhaps trying to compensate for all the dark green water in the creek), so I set the exposure compensation to underexpose the photo.

The photo was cropped, slightly sharpened, and compressed.
