23 ~ Silence

Today, the modern site of Oradour-sur-Glane, with approximately 2,000 residents, is located adjacent to the martyred ruins.
Life has returned to normal; however, remembrance shall forever remain within its silenced confines.

Thank you all for visiting this gallery and experiencing the events of 10 June 1944.

Nice capture of this moving scene (V). In all my travels I doubt I've ever visited a more sad & shocking place, of what some humans can do to others. Living in France today, I can't imagine how the French even let Germans into their country

Very nicely composed, Stephanie. The sign isn't really necessary for those of us who have seen your poignant gallery.
