pbase_7258.jpgMoonrise over Bell Rock. Minutes before this shot was taken, a hiker appeared near the summit which was a rare scene on a day like that. It was incredibly hot (+105 F) and approaching sunset. It was rather a dangerous time to be that high up at that point in the day. It would have been nice to have captured him up there if only to provide scale to this photo. He would have appeared as a tiny speck near the vegetation just to the lower left of the moon on the mountain's right edge. |

pbase_7146.jpgHiking along Fay's Arch Trail in Sedona, Arizona. Temperature that day: 106+ degrees F. Not the best day for a hike. Minutes after this shot was taken, my socks spontaneously burst into flame. |
