Well that was certainly the muddiest Glastonbury I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. At least in 2005 it had the decency to only rain for 6 hours so that by the Sunday the higher parts of the site were drying out nicely. But this year once the heavens started to open on the Friday we had relatively little respite all weekend and so by the time we dragged our belongings back to the car on Monday morning it was more Somme than Somerset.
This year, for the first time, I decided to put a little bit back into the festival by working on the Other Stage Info Point and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Obviously the work does eat into the amount of time that you have to wander and enjoy the entertainment & other attractions at the festival but it also allowed me to get onsite a day earlier than the punters. I worked with some great people & I had the satisfaction of assisting many others through my knowledge of the festival. I’d certainly consider doing it again.
As is now becoming somewhat traditional, I’ve split my Glastonbury 2007 photos into 3 sub-galleries; Sights, Sounds & Smiles, so you can navigate directly to the ones that may be of more interest to you. There is also a bonus gallery of photos I took a couple of weeks before the festival while I was at Worthy Farm for the Infocrew training day. Please enjoy them and start praying to the weather Gods for more favourable conditions in 2008.
