The 30D is a fine older camera, especially in decent light. I put my Canon EF 16-35 lens on it to give it a fairly wide view to start with, then began walking close to get the 5D in full view. I shot in P (Program) mode, which automatically sets an aperture and shutter speed, because I was not fussed with things like a specific aperture.
