Going out on an errand I grabbed my Canon 1D Mk III with the 100-400mm lens and a 1.4x TC attached and headed out to Critter Lake, the nearby beaver pond that I occasionally stop by to catch ducks and geese. I also brought the Better Beamer flash extender which I used toward the end. After a couple hours I had over 400 shots and felt it would be wise to head home!

There were a couple ducks of a breed I'm not familiar with, the grey ones with a larger white ring around a dark head, bigger than mallards. I found out that these are a "hybrid mallard".
