Test of Low PPI values, April 28, '11

A friend of mine in the POTN photography forum and I were discussing whether using very small PPI (pixels per inch) values when posting for the Web would have a bad effect. I had always assumed not, since the pictures would be displayed simply using the monitor ppi, but I had never investigated this. He had, and showed some examples that were pretty horrible. So, I figured I'd run my own test, using values of 10 ppi and 100 ppi (about monitor resolution).

Finally, I cracked it! I sized an image to 1 ppi and to 150-100 pixels. Then, opened that up and sized it to 1024 pixels wide, which nicely showed a very pixellated image, which is the last one here!
