Pak Thale, Thailand
This charismatic species is listed as Critically Endangered because it has an extremely small population that is undergoing an extremely rapid population reduction.
This is because of a number of factors, including habitat loss in its breeding, passage and wintering grounds,
that are compounded by disturbance, hunting and the effects of climate change.
Only as few as 100 breeding pairs remaining.

Congratulation for this shot. We hope they will be able to increase their population to allow more people to be able to see them in the future

Excellent water-level capture of this sadly endangered species. Only 100 breeding pairs remaining is a frightening statistic.
