Vanita Boyd took this photo of me, it is also on her site, click here to see it I encourage you to visit her site as her photos show great vision for composition as well as color management. The reason I like this photo so much is it exemplifies my greatest area of growth from this weekend at Yosemite, which was learning to look down. My greatest failure as a photographer at Yosemite is that I was stuck in the trap so many thousands of shutterbugs encounter there - getting so awestruck by the big rocks that you forget to look at the beauty nature has to offer at ground level in this National Park.
By the way, if the vest looks heavy, I'm carrying two extra cameras, two additional lenses, twelve rolls of 35mm film (one of the backup cameras is a 35mm), four Powerbars, two bottled waters, various lens cleaning utensils and lens filters.
