I've always thought Hornung was over-rated (a 2 yard specialist?), but I like the photo. Voted.

I've admired this several times when I've seen the thumbnail in your "Recent Posts" list, but other photos always distracted me before I got here. Now I'm very glad that I finally made it. I guess I should restrain myself from making a joke about waiting for the other shoe to drop... Still, there is a strong kinetic element to the image. It's not a photo of a foot; it's a photo of a stride. The angle of the foot and ankle convey larger motion involved. I've been puzzling, trying to decide if it is the foot that is being raised to begin a stride, or one that is returning to earth to complete one. Or if it's even possible to tell. No matter. The warm sunlight is perfect for a shot of "The Golden Boy."

No wonder his running was so stiff.
