German Panzerkampfwagen Tiger II Heavy Tank

... this tank weighs in at 68 tons and was built in Germany by the Henschel Company in 1944. It was assigned to the 501st SS Heavy Tank Battalion, part of Kampfgruppe Peiper, and saw action during the Ardennes offensive of late 1944 (The Battle of the Bulge).

... On Christmas Day, 1944, this tank was abandoned by its crew while under fire and subsequently captured by the US Army near the small Belgian village of Petit Coo. In February of 1945, it was shipped to Aberdeen Proving Grounds for testing.
