These images were made by a close friend of mine Andrew Scrivener. Andrew sadly died in August 2005 at the age of 44 whilst trekking in Columbia. We talked about making fine art images from his large collection of travel picures but this never came to fruition whilst he was here. These images are now on exhibition in Manchester as my tribute to my good friend. I do hope you enjoy this small selection of his work.
Andrew was an extraordinary man. He was a fine violinist, adventurer, Photographer, Gourmet and one of the most compassionate human beings I have ever met. He was a valued member of the BBC Philharmonic 1st violin section and ventured far and wide whenever the opportunity presented itself.

He would always show me his latest travel pictures at the end of every trip and as a Photographer I would marvel at the things he had seen, the places he had travelled to and the images he had committed to film.

He was, as these Images will Show, an accomplished and talented Lensman and had a good eye for both composition and ‘feel’ in his pictures. Above all I think he conveys what he felt about the places and the people he came across on his travels, you can almost smell the reality of it all and I hope that my prints of his work go someway to doing justice to this loveliest of human beings.

We all miss him.
