Our room at "Bananas". This was a quaint place across from the water on Vieques. The front was a bar/resturaunt. You walk through a doorway at the back of the resturaunt which led you down a wood planked hall to your room. I think there were about 8 rooms in this place. Unfortunately I got to spend a little more time in the room after taking a after dark kayak tour to see the luminescent water. Our kayak on the way back in had slowly filled with water and capsized Candace & I. We had to swim back in some 4-500 yards. What a work out. The depth of the water was only about 2-3 feet. On the way back in I apparently cut my knee on a piece of coral in which I started getting chilled right away. By the time I made it out of the water I was shivering and ended up back at the room for the night with a high fever the next 20 hours.
