These spiders are harmless to people. There are only a few species in North America that are dangerous like the widows, recluse and hobo spiders.

I have just found one of these spider's in Childress Tx, Is it a poison spider, like a black widow or a brown recluse? Need to no please....

My son was bit by one of these spiders on the front of his upper thigh yesterday, August 13, 2010. There is a large, hot red spot around the bite. He hasn't shown any signs of being sick, but everything I have tried to make the fever come out of his leg isn't working. Should I go ahead and take him to the hospital or doctor?
