I have one living in a rocky outcrop near Gordon, TX (Palo Pinto County). Tail is a pinky-orange, just like the rocks he's living among.

After living in Galveston Bay area for 40 years, I never saw one of these until 2 years ago. They are now almost as numerous as the anole.

more than likely a brown anole they are about two inches long and have this type of pattern on their backs

what kind of lizards do they have in Central California - near Modesto. We found a lizard that kind of looks like this one. It is tiny - about two inches long.
