Red-winged Blackbirds - Agelaius phoeniceus

Groton, Ma. yard

A ton of blackbirds still haven't migrated like this flock of mostly Red-winged Blackbirds. A couple days age a grackle flock of 3,000 was flying around.

Wow!! What a sight to see, especially in January. Surely this is unusual for your area at this time of year?

If you've still got Red-winged Blackbirds, my only thought: What is going on with Massachusetts weather(?)

That's quite a sight. And perhaps a symptom of milder winters?
