I haven't heard Sharp-Lobed Hepatica (Anemone acutiloba) referred to as May Flower; however, there lots of common names for wildflowers, and different people call them by different names. I've seen dozens of common names for some species. I tend to stick with the name that I first learned for a species, but my friends often use different names.

May Flower is another common name for Epigaea repens, which I refer to as Trailing Arbutus.
