Research on "Weeping Angel," She has been called the "Angel of Grief" created by William Wetmore Story in homage to his wife, Emelyn (1894). Replicas grace the world.

Timothy, could you please tell me where to find a full photo of the Weeping Angel and also the picture labeled gh5.jpg? [ p.s. I don't think the Angel is weeping - I think she is praying, and thanking God for His mercy. Just loevly!

I first saw the Weeping Angel featured in a store in Plymouth MA. I absolutely love any view of this statue and the store was absolutely magical. I couldn't afford the print so I bought the card and look at it frequently. The same feeling rushes over me each time I look at it. There is just something about her.

Thanks so much for your beautiful photography! I lost my son 4 years ago and I have been searching for an image that truly portrayed my feelings and I found the Weeping Angel....I am so excited to have found this - from my understanding there are three other of these angels throughtout Texas and one day I hope to have the opportunity to see them face to face!

I would love to just express the pure emotion I felt when I first seen the "WEEPING ANGEL". It wasn't quite a year after hurricane Katrina touched so many lives, I was visiting New Orleans when I first seen a picture of her... It was so touching, so emotional... I immediately felt as if she were crying for all humanity. I was feeling sorrow, almost shame for our inability to care for one another, not because of any one instance, but because of our sometimes shameful history of human behavior... She makes me feel like we are missing the "bigger picture" and losing sight of how society is struggling against its' higher purpose of creating and maintaining safe, loving communities for our families to flourish in.

Dear Mr. Boss,

I found your photograph of the Weeping Angel in our local newspaper, 12-18-2004. At the time, we had just discovered that my younger sister was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. I sent her a copy of the Weeping Angel and we did some weeping of our own over the beauty and quality of the angel and your photography. My sister passed away April 3, 2006, and her loss is still very fresh in my mind. While going through some papers this week, I found the copy of your angel, and wanted to write to you to tell you how much that photograph touched us. The angel and your photograph were truly works of art. My sister collected angel sculptures of every kind, loving the very wings of them. Thank you for doing the work you do, so we may experience the awe of what you see so well. dbb

Your pictures are beautiful! I noticed the weeping angel photograph in the Providence Journal a couple of weeks ago and I was moving. I love angels and think they are so fascinating. You have inspired me to take more pictures. Pictures can say so much, and in such different ways to different people. Lovely website, keep up the good work!

Hello Tim,
I, too, was moved by the newspaper article and photo in our Providence newpapaper.With diligence and perseverance, I was able to locate a few sites that had the Weeping Angel from different angles.The are all moving and beautifully touching. That, too, could have been I at the grave of my husband who passed away almost a year ago.

H'lo Tim ...
While shooting the seated angel in Grove Hill this afternoon, I was approached by two women who asked me why I was taking pictures of the angel and if it was the one in "the article." (I had not seen the article in the DMN.) After speaking with them for a couple minutes, I was pretty sure which angel they were seeking and was able to lead them to the weeping angel monument.

Tonight, I was able to find "the article" and your galleries online. What a great article and I enjoyed viewing your photos. It was also interesting to see how many papers had picked up the article and comments left to you from around the country. This angel obviously *reaches* many of us.

Last summer, I first visited Grove Hill and came upon her. At that time, she had the artificial rose in her hand and I was interested to see a five dollar bill rolled up and tucked into her hand as well. It led me to all sorts of speculation as to why the money had been left.

I am another cemetery aficianado and visit to shoot pictures which I incorporate in art pieces. Currently, I am involved in a third round of trading "artist trading cards" or ATCs with the theme of cemetery art. I've already used the weeping angel for one card and expect I will use another view shot today in this next round. It was interesting to run into others at the cemetery who had an appreciation for the weeping angel and, they, in turn, alerted me to an interesting article ... and your site ... which I might otherwise have missed.

To Mr Boss,
I saw your photo of the weeping angle on January 1, 2005.
I can't tell you how much this photo means to me, except it made me cry. I thought of my Mom, who I lost, just 4 years ago on May 9, 2000. That angle could have been me, over my Mom's grave. Thank you so very much for finding this beautiful angle, and photographing her, for all to see.

I can't express the warm feelings that your photos give me. I am 65 years old, a native of Dallas and both of my parents are buried at Grove Hill Cemetary. I also have spent a considerable amount of time in cemeteries while working on my family tree and can attest to the calm and peaceful feeling it brings when I am there. Photography has always been one of my passions and I just recently purchased an SLR digital camera. After reading the Dallas Morning News article and looking at your web site, you can be assured I will be taking more photos.
