This is Frankie Lavore's Father and in fact, just to clear things up Frankie was contacted by numerous colleges at the end of the 2010 football season. These schools include the following: Cortland, Hartwick, Utica and yes St. John Fisher. Pretty much any college that received Frankie's highlight video was very interested in him. Before I go forward I just want to say I do think it's pretty funny that people are still commenting on this post which I believe was started in like 2007. None the less I received a phone call at 10:30 pm from coach Jim Scachetti ( St. John Fishers Asst head coach ) he advised me he was very sorry to bother me at such an hour but had just watched Frankie's highlight video at his own home. Coach Scachetti immediately set up an official football visit for Frankie and I for the following week. Frankie spent the entire day with the coaching staff and toured the campus. Due to Frankie's high school grades headcoach Paul Vosburg advised Frankie to attend any college for two semesters ( one entire year ) and return to St. John Fisher once those semesters are completed. Frankie was advised as long as he keeps a 2.75 GPA and gets the recommended credits of 23 ( two semesters is 30 credits ) he will be playing football for St. John Fisher in the fall of 2011. They said they wanted him, no if's ands or buts about it! Frankie is already registered at TC3 and started his financial aid. As far as Kyle Conrad goes he was tired of kicking for IC and tried out for defense. He did not make it and is no longer playing football for IC. He will be playing soccer instead.

They are both great athletes. They both put in a lot of effort in that game. Tubbs threw a pass for a TD as did Frank with his HB option, as well as a run up the gut getting the 1st TD of the game along with every 2 extra points that they went for. They were both dangerous players in the backfield. I kind of agree that Candor may have been able to win without Frank, but he was a big help for them this year. Got more total yards than Ahart.. yes? with less carries none the less. Spencer had a lot of talent last year. But with Davidson as coach, i'm sure many will agree, ...he's not the best. He tried to make everyone he can a running back, switching them in and out every other play, not giving his backs a chance to stay in the game and warm up. When he goes, Thats when Spencer might take the jug. But honestly the fighting is stupid. An you're doing on a forum that was put up years ago.

They are moving up to class C. If Spencer and Candor get to play it won't be league a same class game. Most everyone knows, or should know that if Spencer placed LAST in 2009 season winning only 2 games; against terrible teams that pretty much any team can beat. Candor will win again and keep winning for years to come. Now with Spencer being a higher class when they do lose against candor that will give Candor +2 or 3 whatever is may be points for playoffs. Dustin -- come on bro. I'm from Candor, and even I can recognize that teams like Candor and S-VE don't play anybody that good in the regular season. Odessa? Watkins Glen? Seton? Edison? Newfield? By no stretch of the imagination are any of these teams good. And in the case of S-VE, when you guys did play a decent team like Candor or Groton, you lost. When your most impressive win of the year is over a mediocre Tioga team, you really have nothing to brag about. It's the teams out East like Walton and Delhi that are tough to play. Groton was a really good team this year, which is rare for the teams from the West. But honestly, don't go bragging about "walking all over" teams that are just flat out not that good.

Sean Byrne is the best QB in the state. We did just lose the best RB in the country in Conrad, but we will have the new best RB in the country in Ahart. Our line is the best in the country too. We lose a lot on special teams because Conrad was the best kicker on the planet in any sport, but I still think with the best QB in the state and RB and line in the world, we should be okay. Only time will tell. Alright, Heres' the full explaination. My dad is good friends with both of the Candor coaches and had a complaint at the school one day where he talked to one of the coaches. My dad makes me a highlight video for every year since 2002. He ended up giving my 2008 Highlight to coach Bennet because he suposibly wanted to see it. After he saw it he gave it back to my dad along with a sticky note that had his number on it, so that I could call him if I was ever interested in playing for Candor. HE didn't personally come up to me and ask me to change school or anything like that, it was just an offer, no big deal. So after a while I started to consider it for something new. Thats when word got out. I have considered taking the offer many times and it's a big possibility.

I'm sorry man, I get that you're trying to make your point, but I just don't believe that a public high school coach went out on a lamb and asked some kid to switch schools to play for him, and he just happened to strongly consider it. Like I said before, if there is any talk of Frankie coming to Candor I think it had to have been initially put into motion by Frankie and his family. Public high school football coaches at this level don't just randomly go try to get kids to come play for their school. Maybe if it was a school like Binghamton getting a kid like Jamar Smith to come from Johnson City (a jump from Class A to AA) it would be possible, but what would make Coach Swartz think there was a possibility of Frankie coming to Candor if he wasn't given the impression that it was a possibility by the Lavores in the first place?

Do you really think that a public high school coach would talk to a player about switching schools if the player in question wasn't the one who showed initial interest? Obviously if there was any talk of him coming to Candor it started with him. I guarantee Coach Swartz didn't just randomly talk to Frankie and say, "Hey, you should come play at Candor next year." I really can't believe this is even a discussion, it's in the hands of the player, not the coach. Candor isn't a private school or a college. If Lavore has interest in coming to Candor, let him have interest. Beyond that, don't start accusing Candor of trying to steal him away. Question: If Candor is trying so hard to take Lavore from Candor, why stop there? Why not ask Ahart to come play for Candor? Answer: Candor can't recruit players, they can't make kids come to their school. I look forward to S-VE actually making these contests interesting again. Six straight losses? How boring for everyone to watch! I'm from Candor, and let's be honest here, it's not like Candor has been some amazing powerhouse the last few seasons, sure they win their 6+ games per year, but never really amount to much in the grand scheme of things (state playoffs). It's tough because S-VE has gotten to the point where a win over Candor would be equivalent to winning a state championship. I give S-VE credit for making it close the last two years, but it's really getting annoying hearing people from Spencer saying things like "oh we were the better team" or whatever, because realistically, you don't lose to a team that many times in a row if you are better than them, it just doesn't happen. It's honestly just time to let your game on the field do the talking for you, and everyone should stop posting on a website that has pictures from two years ago about how they will win it next year or whatever. It gets old. Let your game speak, not your keyboard.

After reading your post, I said to myself, "Hey you know what, I should get over myself." And golly jeepers, I did. I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me through this =) I hope that one day us Indians can unite with you Panthers and we can not only form a family, but form some sort of cross-breed mascot. Perhaps a cat with human-like instincts, called a Pindian. Of maybe a Native American that has the skills of a cat, i.e. never falling on its back and having exceptional hand-eye coordination. lol if anyone e-mailed you, you'd probably just try to have them arrested. nobody wants to talk to you one-on-one about your son in football, not because they are intimidated by you, but because nobody finds him that interesting. the only reason he is even talked about is because people from spencer (unfortunately) talked him up so incredibly much before the last few seasons. though decent, he never really lived up to the billing that everyone gave him from your town as the hardest hitting kid ever to grace planet earth. i'm not denying he is a decent player. but for you to get on here and try to defend your son and yourself against what is probably a bunch of high school boys, is a little lame.

This is my first post on this website and I think it is hilarious that I have comments addressed to me that I have read for the first time tonight. Its even better that my eldest Son, Frankie Lavore, is a pretty popular topic on this site...good and bad press. I am honored, as will be Frankie when I show it to him. Lol....I do however want to thank, "Guest" whoever it may be for saying wonderful things about my boy...sooooo Thank you Guest and I agree. I must also agree with Guest when he says that Cody Rose is an incredible athlete, he is. I am sure Terry is as proud of Cody as I am of my Son. Terry and I have always been respectful to each other. No matter what field we were on or who won, we usually always shake hands at the end of the game. He has complimented Frankie and I have complimented Cody. My son has complimented Cody, there is, and always has been a mutual silent respect I think. So for future reference if you need to contact me....instead of hiding behind a stupid name like, "Thinker, Etc..., my name is posted as me on this site and my personal email address is Frank535@htva.net. I check that alot more then here. I would love to hear any imput you may have on my Son... unbelieveable! Wow, all of you are ruthless! But thats what makes a rivalry, a rivalry. Just to add my small personal opinion. To win the jug is an honor. Candors seniors this year, last year and the year before have never really won the jug, more like.....just held onto it. It is still a good feeling I am sure but all those boys will never really experience winning the jug. They can thank the seniors from 03 for that. Actually winning the jug, taking it off the other sidelines, holding it in the air, is much more gratifying. I know because I have experienced that exact feeling. Hopefully the SVE seniors next year can experience that for themselves. Nothing against Candor but I am a SVE fan through and through. I think the tides are shifting, which was evident this year with two very close games..... and it won't belong before it sits at our highschool. Merry X-Mas all

okay so u talk about calling kids out yet you say "to set mick thomas straight" when he said nothing about what u were talking about or to compair an 18 year old to when he was 11??? when casey smith was 11 he was a WR and now is the starting running back for Utica College's JV team this year,his freshman year. So things change... and honestly what schools are looking at frankie lavore... hartwick,st john fisher, Ithaca college... the same local division 3 schools that scout every play with any ounce of talent in area... congrats. guess what any 16 year old kid can get on a college website and email the coach that he wants to play football and they will recruit you so it is no great thing Your son's accomplished...and well truthfully..he is not that good sorry to burst your bubble but your clearly the type of parent who thinks your kids is way better than he is and you probably make him feel like he is really good so your both in a delerious world where u think your some kid of special person b/c you started for the spencer van etten varsity.... sounds like you should throw a party for you son on achieveing greatness already...

Ok Mr. Lavore. You complain about adults bad mouthing players, but you basically get on here talking trash about how Cody Rose got "shut down" when he was eleven years old. Why do you even remember another team's player's statistics from a youth football game? That same year, Candor beat Maine-Endwell. Would Candor beat Maine-Endwell now? I doubt it. Youth football means nothing, modified means nothing, even JV for schools that have it means nothing. That youth game featured kids who graduated last year anyway (I remember that team featured players for Candor such as Casey Smith, Nick Bartlow, Mike Atkins, Cody Little, etc.), so I wouldn't really say it was "next year's seniors". I guess we might just have to agree to disagree on a lot of this stuff, but I wouldn't quite describe Frank Lavore as unbelievable. One of the top players at S-VE? Yes. A good linebacker? Yes. Unbelievable? I wouldn't go that far. If you want to see unbelievable, go watch Binghamton's Jamar Smith play Henninger this weekend.

Did Mick Thomas even mention anything about Frank Lavore? I agree that the name calling should really stop, but I don't agree that what you do in modified, let alone pee-wee, really dictates anything of what will happen at the varsity level. I think there is no doubt that S-VE will have a good team next year, but what they did two years ago, or six or seven years ago, really doesn't have any impact on the outcome of the Jug Game now. I think that until one team is really just dominant over the other (Candor in '05, '06) these two teams will always play each other close. As the coaches at Candor always say, you can throw the records out the door when it comes to the Jug Game.

First and foremost, I am a player's parent and my Son plays for Spencer. This morning I searched my Son's name on Google for a totally different issue and a link came up directing me to this wonderful comment page with my Son being one of the subjects for a couple of entry's. Whats worse is that even though a couple of entry's seem to be from players themselves ( Teenagers at that ) there seemed to be more entry's from adults, name calling and rude comments. It's amazing how the first entry on this page is from someone who stated that the pictures are wonderful and how she can save them to her PC. It's all down hill from there....and it gets ugly at that! Now having coached youth football for many years at Spencer and watching the ups and downs of the SVE -vs- Candor saga everyone seems to forget that there has been many games played between the Conrad, Ahart, Lavore, etc....SVE Panthers and the Rose, Thomas, Tubbs, etc....Candor Indians. If we were to add up the wins and losses between the two teams each time they met we would probably be about even. Spencer's seniors next year are the same boys that shut Candor ( Cody Rose included ) down in the 11 and 12 year old Super game in youth football. At that time Cody was a quarterback and gained under 20 yards. Spencer's seniors next year are the same 2006 undefeated modified team that shut Candor ( Jake Tubbs and Chad Rose included ) down just two years ago. Both contests this year were incredible games and could have went either way, everyone knows that. No team was better then the other, There was no blowout. It was just that teams day to shine....period. Instead of calling the players names and trash talking each other lets just enjoy the fact that both schools have great heart, pride and when it comes to the jug game both are incredible football teams. There was also a comment made about Frankie Lavore and I need to set Mr. Mick Thomas straight. Lavore is an unbelievable linebacker as well as a fullback. He has led tackles both last year and this season. Numerous colleges have already contacted him for his defensive skills and are anxiously waiting to see him play next year. Yes, he got rolled by Cody but watching the footage Cody was running North to South and Lavore was running East to West, bad angle and Cody went down anyway, thats what football is all about. Cody and Lavore hit all night and on numerous occassions Cody would look around to see who even tackled him. I also don't agree with trash talking Cody Rose. Rose is a truck! Period he is an amazing athlete and deserved to end his senior year the way he did. I wish him luck with whatever sport he pursues after high school. Yes, Spencer will be strong next year in addition to Lavore entering the back field with Kurtis Ahart next year we will also be blessed with Craig Ahart, Kurtis's little brother who is as equally talented. I am sure Candor will bring it next year as they always do and I am excited to see the outcome. Lets just enjoy the type of game we always get from these two teams win or lose ....it is always a knock em down no holds bar football game, full of hard hits and highlights, and never, ever a disappointment. Congrats to both teams for winning their divisions!

the truth is that neither candor nor spencer are rising anywhere. the only reason either of these programs is going somewhere is a recent wave of good athletes through the schools. Candors coaches arent that great and spencer's coach has been there for how many years and finaily had a decent pair of seasons. it is all talent and talent alone. both teams were good this year but neither could ever even contend with walton. b/c we are to undisciplined and while we have 4 or 5 good players that make our teams good they have 22 so... we can argue all we want but we dont know what it is like to be a great team like walton does

I like to think I am pretty smart with Section 4 football and also know what I'm talking about. S-VE was 5-3 through through eight games (5-3 before each cross-over game) each of the last two years, at least through the games that count toward something (I don't mean that in a negative way). I agree it would have been nice to see someone beat Walton, but no Spencer person should act like it would have been their team that beat them. Until you see this team play, you really don't understand how good they are. I wasn't saying "good job on the cross-over" to the entire Spencer team or community or whatever, just to that person who felt the need to rub it in the Candor team's face that they lost to Walton. It was really just classless, and maybe what I said was classless, but it just gets on my nerves when people do that sort of thing.

Walton could probably win the state championship. So Candor lost its final game, losing to the team that will probably go on to win it all (just like last year). I see no shame in that. Ok first off Frankie Lavore tackled that "fat punk" 11 times in our second game. And this is not Lisa Beach. We are only losing pat and kyle in the back feild and we have two more great backs stepping up to take their spots. Frankie Lavore is a force to be reckoned with once he gets his hands on the ball. I don't know who said rose and thomas had nothing on us but i give u guys credit. we both have great teams but next year that jug is coming to spencer!!!! Next years group of seniors will make sure of that!

Ahart is slippery, he's good no doubt. Conrad is a decent threat, but as it has been shown in the last 3 years/4 games, he is no Cody Rose. At least not at football. But two guys that walk all over someone's defense don't usually end up losing. You just have no idea what you're talking about really. Did you see where I admitted that Conrad and Ahart were both good? See? Up there? That's me being realistic. Whoever you are, you'll never be realistic. And just like a lot of people on your team, and the teams before you, you will think of every excuse for why you didn't beat Candor. Hint for the future: less time talking and more time playing is a good way to start.

Ok the first touchdown you guys had on us was a bullshit call. The ball was being thrown foward. And that first one shouldn't have counted. Second Mick Thomas didn't have shit on us, our problem was Rose. And ok the Jug Game we would have won that in over time because towards the end we started shutting you guys down and theres no doubt we would have won that. And ok Cody Rose is just some fat punk who can run people over because he is fat. And Candor has no anwser for Kurtis Ahart and Kyle Conrad. Which walked all over your Offense And Defense

I'll give it to you that the 1st game was lucky, though there is no saying that Candor wouldn't have still won if say we went into over time. also i feel it was just as lucky for spencer to score two 4th quarter TD's against a D that shut them down all game. The second game came down to coaching as it was evident both these teams were pretty equal. candor won solely because candor utilized it's strengths better al la the "jumbo" package. also SV-E had no answer for Cody Rose or Mick Thomas as they were both outstanding defensively getting probably more than half of candor's total tackles. You have a very good team and while speed kills when the other team has a 235 pound fullback/linebacker and a 345 pound defensive tackle who both are college material you have to do something about it. i think Spencer failed to key on Rose defensively and failed to run away from him and Thomas Offensively and it killed them in the end. i would also like to say that you dont get lucky twice, candor is and was the better team this season and that is fact so deal with it and please spencer people get with the program and use the syracuse.com forums syracuse.com/forums/hsfootball here is where people talk about stuff that make a difference not tims GOTW pics
