This is a water hyacinth that was growing in a barrel at a school here in Jacksonville. I had been told that when they bloom,
the flower only lasts for a day, and then it is gone. When my mother-in-law (who teaches at the school) called me to tell
me it was blooming, I picked up the camera and drove over to check it out.
