Alain, You can see in the exif data below this picture that it was taken at ISO 1600. It was also hand held. I did not carry a tripod or even a monopod that day. In the existing light, sometimes the shot is less than we would like.

Your photos of the cathedral with the 28-135mm lens look quite bright but are not quite sharp when seen in the "original" format. Has this to do with the lens or the JPEG re-compression of the original shots please?
