Male Brown Goshawk

Happy New Year Everyone.
We had a power cut yesterday afternoon in 40C heat.
Heard a squeaking noise from the wetlands.
I went out thinking it might be a baby bat in distress.
I spotted a bird in the camphor laurel tree but couldn't see it for the sun.
Took a shot anyway. Thankfully someone else had been using my trusty camera and had put it on Auto.
This is the result.

Nikon D600
1/200s f/5.6 at 300.0mm iso110 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Thanks for the comment, Pete. We have had a couple of days of 44c lately!
Thank goodness for ai-con.

Thanks, Terry, not up to your standard but saved by Photoshop and auto function.
At least you get to see what it looks like.
Many thanks for commenting.

Wow, Elaine. Saved by Auto - given the situation, its truly an amazing capture. A keeper for sure. Love it!

Ha ha Hal You make me laugh....did you not read the explanation?
It was point, shoot and pray.
Thanks for your kind comments tho
I have been in this house for 35+ years and have never seen one before.
Don't know if it has been attracted by the flying foxes for rabbits.
Glenn saw it again this morning when he took the dog for a walk.
