Barkeeper at the Longbranch Saloon

Dodge City, Kansas

The barkeeper at the Longbranch Saloon in Dodge City, Kansas was quite a historian and shared some of the history of Dodge City's colorful past. The saloon is at the bottom of Boot Hill. In case you don't know, the cemetery was called Boot Hill because it was located on a hill, and many who were buried there in shallow graves, still had their boots on. Many of the graves were unmarked, but some are marked with wooden markers.

An excellent period piece, Cindy. Most artistic.
Your story about the victims of gunfights being buried with their boots on
is most interesting.
l see that he doesn't tote a six-gun,
but has a dagger on his belt.

Wonderful lighting and a great composition, Cindy. Fun to take some time and
soak up the atmosphere so beautifully photographed.

A nice candid image of this Barkeeper and the setting is reminiscence of the Old West...
