Davidson Windmill was built in 1900 by Finnish immigrant and homesteader, Jacob Davidson. It is the only grist mill in Wisconsin known to be of Finnish origin. It is sitting on a bluff over the Amnicon River and was used to mill locally grown grains for both humans and animals (living along the south shore of Lake Superior) from 1904-1926. It is built of native materials. It was placed on the Naitonal Register of Historic Sites in 1979.
