A 7 week old American Bison, pure-bred, on the prairie. The Nature Conservancy brought in these animals from a remote National Park in South Dakota, and they have been multiplying at the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve.
A gorgeous coat and love the horn buds. These coats suited to winter must be hard to bear in heat of summer

What a cute little animal. Hard to believe it will grow into a massive
and formidable bison. l've been reading about cross-breeding buffalo and
cows. Called at the time (late 1800's) Cattalo.
lt failed as most were sterile and also difficult to tame.
The Texas Longhorn was the answer for dry areas of the US.
Lovely even charming photo, Michael.
