The Promised Meadowlark

For a mentor and friend...
This little guy was at the top of a 60 foot oak, about 50 yards from my position, but his color demanded that I try to get him.
Please excuse the noise here...as you can tell, eagles are much more willing to be seen without cover than these little guys. Perhaps he was in this thick tree because he was 150 meters from two nesting eagles, and has heard the coots mourn missing relatives...
