Take-Out

The female spent four hours yesterday afternoon waiting on the nest. The second hatchling hatched at 1300, but no "Dad" until after 1700. So Mom was in the nest, with two offspring and no food. She called to her mate about 1645, no response. When he DID return, he had a stick for the nest, and a snake for the one hatchling he was aware of. Any male would recognize the "tongue- lashing the old boy took from his mate.
She decided to fly off and within 20 minutes, had made two trips back; a turtle came with her first, then some seafood on the second trip...as depicted here. She quite efficient ...
