Rusting in the desert

Goldfield Ghost town, AZ

Goldfield was founded in 1893 and finally became a ghost town in 1926. These old hulks (trucks, tractors and mining equipment) are rusting in the desert, but the desert takes them down slowly. I'm fascinated by the colors of the paint and metal as the sun beats down on it and the sand blows across it and time takes its toll.

What a strange place to find these old wrecks. It makes me wonder how long they are there.

I wondered where I had left my car!

Where do all these vehicles come from?
Move them 1800 miles NNE, put them in front of an old trailer, and you have a classic photo of Tennessee/Mississippi, Alabama, or wherever...
Exceptionally fine quality.
What's with the clouds? I thought this was Arizona!

I love these old vintage machines now rusting away in the desert. If I was a pessimist philosopher - which I am not, rather the opposite - I would see this fantastic picture as a epitaph of our rusting culture!

Wow ! Once somebody's pride and joy, holding dreams of gold and wealth.
Now staring with unseeing eyes at the desert that defeated them.
A remarkable scene Cindy. Well done.

I think most of us would find this fascinating. I love weathered old junk and the textures that come about through natural processe. Nice photo of the lineup.
