Nothing on earth is waste of money, all is worth what you want to pay for it.
It is another experience, sometimes a less good picture quality, all depends of the lens you use with it and how much you are able to manually focus. I use a NEX-7 up to 90% of time with MF and sometimes with Leica glass. I would not spend the money for a Leica anyway, for me, the digital Leica has in no way any advantage in Image quality to most other FF cameras, some even do better shots. Now, one can put as much junk in a 20$ bag as in a 2000$ bag. All is in your head only. Want it, pay it, learn how to use it and it will do the job you await from it. You shoot, you compose, your camera is just a tool to fulfill that task. One does not needs a Leica anyway to make a master photo.
