backlit weed

I just wanted to see how my Russian lens handled a backlit situation. This Jupiter 8 is an old Russian Fed lens that was just CLA'd. It does pretty well for a lens that cost less than $100. LOL
My friend, Michael, was good enough to send me an ltm to M converter so that I could use this lens on my camera. Thanks, Michael.

I love the light in this. Very well done for a very inexpensive lens. Goes to show it is the eye of the photographer and not always the lens. Good job!

OK, Cindy...I have now officially embarrassed myself by doing something I haven't done since I was about 2 years old...well, not really, but I feel like it.
The dynamic range here is unparalleled, and the image is amazing.

Terry, you can read about the Jupiter 8 on camerapedia. Mine is a black example, so must be from the 70's. These are available sometimes for $30. Mine was more because someone had CLA'd it and the cosmetics of mine are perfect. It is a pretty amazing lens.

I have never heard of that lens Cindy, but that's one hell of a fine shot you got with it.
