Ruthvan Barracks are situated south of Aviemore near the Cairngorm mountains. This strategic location was used as Army barracks in the days of old but are no more than ruins. It is very rare to see the flood water making it all the way to the base of the Barracks. In fact, I have never seen this before or since the day I visited. The day was nice and still aloowing a nice reflection in the flooded pool.
