Apparently ASM was the American Society for Metals. Clearly, this was not an
institution granted right to "designate" anything as a National Historical Landmark.
This case shows how sponsoring and legislative institutions are intertwined in America.

To me, this is bizarre.

This case reminds me of the "FIFA Peace Price," made out of wet cloth for the sole
purpose of presenting it to a malignant narcissist having need for endless accolades...
