This Mission was huge. Its land was confiscated by
Mexican government as a result of secularization laws.

Notice the image right below: In a typical symbolism a towering Friar is blessing/teaching a
"tiny Indian." A similar juxtaposition can be seen on the monument in San Juan Capistrano
Mission. This is how the missionaries have seen natives: Inferior subjects being Christianized.
