The Briscoe Western Art Museum. Named after the Governor Dolph Briscoe a descendant of one the signers of Texas Independence, Captain Andrew Briscoe.

Museum hosts exhibits on 3 levels, has an outdoor sculpture garden (The McNutt Sculpture Garden) and has seasonal exhibitions, thus a return visit makes sense. Besides, even in the constant exhibits, they seem to change a lot of details. I find it interesting to spot these small changes.

Entry to the McNutt garden is free. At its street side entrance stands a monument of Quanah Parker, The Last Chief of the Quahada Comanche. Numerous sources and books provide details about his person and the Comanche Resistance. Born to a Comanche chief Peta Nocona and Cynthia Ann Parker, who was captured by Comanches as a child and embraced by the tribe. Quanah led a valiant fight and surrendered in June 1875 only after Buffalo Herds were exterminated and survival in winter was not possible.

Several rooms are devoted to the 1836 Texas Revolution and the famous Battle of Alamo.

The AI (Artificial Intelligence): Without the stunning Noise Reduction and Reflection Removal many of these images would not be really presentable. All this has changed around 2024 with the introduction of these sophisticated tools.
