The city is sure one of the most picturesque places in Europe. Salzburg manages to uphold an ambient of extraordinary, especially in respect to classical music and its performance. This is the birth place of one Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Mozart motive is omnipresent.

In recent time Herbert von Karajan succeeded in making Salzburg a gathering place for high culture and celebrities. Numerous maestros and virtuosos have villas in Salzburg, what however makes the Altstadt vicinity not affordable to "regular mortals."
