Hands Of GOD El Salvador 2019 Day3





Day 3 on this missions trip, meant absolutely everything to me. Before arriving to El Salvador, I knew the tasks that were before me. I knew I was going to be leading worship and dancing most of the trip. As I got to the hotel and was settled, all I could do was pray that God would use me in those talents and gifts to glorify His name. Although there was nothing wrong praying for those things, I was certain there was MORE. So at 5am prayer, I cried out to the Lord and told Him specifically what I wanted to do... and after listening to pastor Leo’s message the night before, we know that when we ask for things according to Gods will and purpose, there’s no way the answer will be no... so ask! That’s exactly what I did that morning, I asked and was blown away by a good and faithful savior who constantly surprises me in all His mystery and wonder. I specifically asked the Lord to allow me to speak to someone who was battling major anxiety or depression... anyone who came from a broken home. I know what it’s like to feel bound by these things.. what it feels like to be paralyzed by fear. So I knew I had to share on this hope and freedom I have found in Jesus! Freedom from fear and sadness. This freedom that only God could give. And that if I was able to overcome, then they could to... if they believe!
So after I prayed for that in the morning, we went to a school in San Felipe. We were all instantly swamped with hugs from all the kids that would come up to us. As if we had known them forever! It was the best feeling. I couldn’t wait to get started. We played games, took pictures, prayed over many students, danced, sang, and heard a word from Tony. It was fantastic and my focus was all caught up on that.
Suddenly, before lunch, Natasha comes up to me with this young girl named Jessica, about 15 years old, who was struggling from bad anxiety and depression... to the point where it kept her up at night. When I looked into that girls eyes, I said in my head, “God you answered me.” Hearing her story, i could totally relate to what she was saying and could feel so deeply what she was feeling because I’ve been there.
As I began to speak with Jessica and Mari translating, I simply shared my heart and told her my testimony. That My peace, joy, comfort, relief, hope, and FREEDOM came only from my Father, my faithful friend, Jesus!
Once Mari and I prayed for her, she was beyond grateful that we took the time to listen to her as she felt that no one around her really understood her. We prayed for her to accept Jesus into her heart and to know Him as her Father who loves her and is mindful of her. Her face lit up and saw her smile. It made my day... it was a moment I was created for.
An hour later, she comes back with an even bigger smile and introduces me to her mom. Her mom thanked me and told me to please pray for her daughter. I gave her my promise I would. Jessica was my answered prayer. A girl that will forever be in my heart... one who heard where true freedom and joy comes from.. God blew me away with His perfect love.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and of a sound mind.”
We can rest in His perfect love and His perfect peace.
