JOHN PARRA ,NLM AND HANDS OF GOD AT MISSION OF HOPE IN HAITI DAY6

Day 6 “Haiti to me has been impacting!”

Today we went to Tatenye, which is a tent ciy 5 minutes away from where we are staying “Mission of Hope for Haiti”. This was the second time in two days that we were able to visit them.

The first day we visited Tatenye our goal was to create a relationship with the people. Our motive was to show them the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by our actions. So, the team was seperated into different groups and given different responsibilities. We distributed clothes, shoes, meds, and all sorts of baby necessities. The Pastor of the church, which is the designated ”village leader” helped us out tremedously. He kept the peace and order throughout the village as the things were being given out. You can only imagine the danger, stress and chaos that could of occured in an enviroment so needy, but God was faithful. These people are so desperate, they have NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING. Our team is fearless though! They functioned as cloth distributors, mother baby nurses, security gaurds and much more. The connection was unreal as we would supply their physical needs. The people were very greatful and the distribution went as smooth as I have ever seen in my years of doing missions work.
The following day we went back to Tatenye, which is day 6. Our goal was now to meet their spiritual needs through the physical relationships that we had built the prior day. We set up on a hill within this tent city and all the villagers came to the outreach service. This in itself is a miracle because going into these tent city are not recommended, but the ministry that we are working with has established great relationships throughout the community. The service was undescribable as Lauren led worship, Jose and the crew ministered a skit and Roger shared a powerful word on healing. The presence of the Lord was all over Tatenye. God did amazing things and I will share some of them with you. I prayed for this one elderly woman that was unable to see shapes and color and God restored her sight. She was able to say the color of my translators shirt and even say the color of his watch. As the mutitudes came up for prayer the missionaries were praying and standing in the gap for these people in their time of need. Many of them were able to see God’s healing hand move right before there eyes. Also, there was this one lady who could not swallow or even hold anything down in her stomach. She could not drink or eat without throwing it up. After praying for her I grabbed Erics water bottle and poured water into her mouth. She was able to swallow and hold it down perfectly fine. Lastly, this one beatiful girl that Krity and I had prayed for the day before. This young girl HAD a mass on her cheek the day before as we distributedand when she showed up to the outreach service today she had no mass. You can see pictures of this on Facebook and Tweeter.
I can sit and keep on writing, but we are getting ready to go on a ride up a mountain with no roads and a hike through a river that is up to our waist, so I gotta go, lol! I want to thank those who are praying for us and following us through John amazing photos, Facebook and Tweeter. We have had 80,000 views just in the time that we have been here. For those at home we are also taking video, which our goal is to edit and really give you a visual of all your answered prayers, we love you all! Pastor Leo
