This is the main square in Lo Manthang. The important Buddhist festivals are held here and the large thankas are displayed on the wall of the building on the right. Our lodge, and the post office, is in the building on the left and I am taking the photograph from the entrance to the royal palace. This is the place to sit and chat and to watch people.
