#122 Puffins

I took a trip to the Isle of May in the Firth of Forth today. There is a huge seabird colony with one of the largest colonies of Puffins in the UK.

I love these guys! Just a little side story about puffins - When my oldest was 2 we took her to the Seattle Aquarium where they have puffins. They were swimming underwater and she pointed at them and said "fish". "No, those are birds!", upon which she made a funny face. Next display was salmon swimming in a big circular tank. She promptly and cinfidently pointed at them and said "birds!". haha.

Great pictures of these puffins. We had a few dead ones washed ashore after the storms a few weeks ago, so good to see they are surviving out there...
