#085 Weir at Redhall Mill

Colinton, Edinburgh

So much for spring, we are shrouded in mist making a very grey day!
I opted to nip down to the local river, the Water of Leith.
There are surprising number of man made structures along the way,
mostly now disused relics dating from Victorian industries making
use of the power of the stream. They are also mostly made from stone
so they blend in quite well as they deteriorate.
This weir used to power a sawmill at Redhall Mill.
