Painted Desert - Arizona

Just to the North of the Petrified Forest lies the Painted Desert, named after the ricj variety of colours in the various strata . . . it's exceptionally arid, too, which makes the colours stand out even more. The Painted Desert segues into the Navajo Nation, and then North into Monument Valley, Utah. I haven't added any descriptions to most of the images - they stand by themselves.
