Brunner is the alpha cat of our clowder. From time to time he disappears for a few days,
then comes back limping and bleeding. Then he recovers for weeks. Then he gets into
another fight. This was taken several days into another recovery. // Addendum: In 2015
Brunner came home really sick, then stumbled away into the night. We never saw him again.
He was tough but he was very protective of young, homeless kittens. He would bring them
to us and guard them while they were feeding. One of those is still with us, domesticated.
Another one, Frankie, replaced Brunner as the alpha male, and over time became just as
protective as Brunner was. R.I.P., Brunner.
