Birds, mid-day fountain bathers, January 2016

In winter, birds gather around our backyard fountain at mid-day to bathe or drink, maybe because it's warmest at that time. On January 3, 2016, between 12:19 and 12:40 p.m. I photographed the birds shown below, representing nine species: I also saw but failed to photograph an Anna's Hummingbird, a Dark-eyed Junco, a Spotted Towhee, and a House Finch. Other birds that often come to the fountain are Cedar Waxwings, California Towhee, and White-crowned Sparrow; and I've had occasional fountain visits from Cooper's Hawks, Northern Flickers, and Varied Thrushes.
