Roseate Spoonbills, males fighting, March 2008

I was able to photograph this brief battle between two (presumed male) Roseate Spoonbills on Tampa Bay, March 20, between noon and one p.m., on a photography trip led by James Shadle. It started with one of the combatants standing with another spoonbill, presumably a female. The other male attacked, and this brief fight -- less than 20 seconds -- ended with one of the males retreating. Thanks, James!
