I drove through Panoche Valley on Superbowl Sunday on the way back from the Los Banos area, and got my best pictures when a flock of Lark Sparrows came to the fence along New Idria Road. I also got a less good but OK one of a Long-eared Owl at Mercey Hot Springs. I saw (but wasn't able to get reasonable photos of) a Golden Eagle circling above the intersection of Little Panoche and Panoche Roads, a juvenile Ferruginous Hawk on a fencepost in the same vicinity, and a group of about a dozen Chukar in Shotgun Pass. Bald Eagles at Paicines reservoir (too far away for good pics) on the way home. For my Los Banos pics, see https://pbase.com/tgrey/losbanosfeb07 .
