Twenty-plus Long-eared Owls roost in a tamarisk grove at Mercey Hot Springs Resort in Panoche Valley. I got there early in the morning, and they were still awake and active, so it was hard to find one that was sitting still in a place to photograph. This was the best I could do. My first picture of this species.
